Classes offered; (schedule to be posted)

1. Becoming Holy Women – The image from the media and the world of what women should be is in stark contrast to what the Lord wants for His Daughters. Where can we find beautiful role models for us and our daughters to follow? Female disciples from the scriptures and from the History of the church provide a glimpse of the joy and fulfillment that can be found as we understand and begin to live the lives of Holy Women.
2. Armed with Power from on High - "And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory be round about them, and thine angels have charge over them;" D&C 109:22 Practical examples of how the temple can arm us with power and help us in our relationships, in our weaknesses, our trials and heartaches, "bringing us out of darkness into marvelous light." – Joseph Smith Jr.
3. Home- A Sanctuary from the World – “It is possible to make home a bit of heaven; indeed I picture heaven to be a continuation of the ideal home” Pres. David O. McKay. How can we make our homes a sanctuary from the world and protect our family from the evil influences of Satan?
4. Becoming One in Strengthening the Family– Being one in marriage requires full partnership. For example Adam and Eve worked, prayed, worshipped, sacrificed, taught their children the gospel and mourned over wayward children together. They were united with each other and with God. (HB 1.3What are our God ordained roles in the family? How can women ennoble the Priesthood in the home? How can we work together in greater harmony to strengthen our homes, help our children become converted and progress toward exaltation?
5. For My Soul Delighteth in the Scriptures – Regardless of the stage of life we are in or how many times we have read them, daily study of the scriptures is paramount as we face and overcome challenges, strive to have the Spirit with us and faithfully endure to the end. How can our personal scripture study become “delicious” to us? Come learn multiple approaches and tools we can use to enhance our study of the scriptures.
6. Flowing from the Fountain Above – How can we gain confidence in our ability to receive personal revelation? How can we use revelation to help us find and fulfill our roles and missions in this life? Dallin H. Oaks stated, “Search your own experience. You have already received revelations, and you can receive more revelations because communication from God to men and women is a reality.”
7. Free to Choose: When Others’ Choices Affect Us: Part 2 – “Strong emotions overcome the delicate promptings of the Holy Spirit.” Elder Richard G. Scott. How can the Atonement bring healing and peace to any touched by the destruction of addiction? Gaming, pornography, technology, drugs and alcohol? How can we recognize signs of addiction and what resources are available for treatment?
8. Filled with the Grace of God – Grace is defined as “Divine help or strength through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ. It is an ‘enabling power’ after we have expended our own best efforts.” (Bible Dictionary). How do we develop an understanding of and confidence in God’s Grace? What is required of us to receive this enabling power offered through the atonement?
9. Enjoyable Exercise and Healthy Eating – Are These Oxymorons? What are the benefits exercise and healthy eating? Is it really possible to enjoy exercise and healthy eating? Learn about ways to incorporate interesting, healthful routines into the fabric of daily life. Begin today to reap the benefits of a healthy, enjoyable lifestyle.
10. Wise Stewards – “We encourage you wherever you may live in the world to prepare for adversity by looking to the condition of your finances. We urge you to be modest in your expenditures; discipline yourselves in your purchases to avoid debt…If you have paid your debts and have a financial reserve, even though it be small, you and your family will feel more secure and enjoy greater peace in your hearts” (All is Safely Gathered In: Family Finances)
11. 12. The Power and Protection of Worthy Music - How can we and our children focus on the most beautiful music and lessen the exposure to music that would harm us? “Through music, man’s ability to express himself extends beyond the limits of the spoken language in both subtlety and power. Music can be used to both exalt and inspire or to carry messages of degradation and destruction” (Priesthood Bulletin, Aug. 1973, pg. 3)
13. The Joy of Gardening –The ever-changing world in which we live requires us to be more self-reliant. With food prices on the rise and the need to eat healthy and inexpensive, the prophets’ counsel to grow a garden is timelier than ever. This class will focus on gardening basics for the Northwest and touch on Winter Gardening.
14. When Our Dreams Are Not Yet a Reality – How can we find enduring peace when there is a gap between our hopes and our reality? How can our desires for eternal family connections be realized? Why is it important to have confidence in the Lord’s promises and decide to be a strong member of the church regardless of our current circumstances?

Key Note Speaker: - Ada Wilson (Wife of Everett Mission President)
On The Lord’s Errand – As women of light, how can we grow our light so that we can be more effective in shining that light and sharing the gospel with those around us? How can we better prepare our children to shine their light and heed the prophet’s call for “more missionaries?”

Women and the Priesthood – How understanding better the Priesthood enhances our ability as women, wives and mothers in the gospel of Jesus Christ to support our priesthood leaders and encourage husbands and sons in their Priesthood Duties.

A Single Parent but not Entirely Alone – Successful single parenting requires reservoirs of faith, understanding, and energy. How can such reservoirs be filled when there are so many demands on our time? How does the Holy Ghost enlarge our capacity? How can we nurture spirituality and faith in our children? How can we call on home and visiting teachers, auxiliary, leaders, bishops, and relatives to support our single-parent families?

A Time of Decision – As young single adults move beyond High School we face many critical life decisions. Navigating through the stage between High School and adulthood can sometimes be confusing. The small decisions made during this time will greatly affect our happiness now, later in life and in the hereafter. 
Bringing the Light of the Temple Home with You – How frequent temple attendance helps purify ourselves and our homes. We will discuss many joys of attending and serving in the temple and what motivates men and women the world over to be a temple attending people, often at great cost. “In the latter-days there will be a people so pure in Mount Zion with a house established upon the tops of the mountains, that God will manifest himself not only in their temple but when they retire to their homes behold, each home will be lighted up by the glory of God, a pillar of flaming fire by night.” - Orson Pratt
Bringing Up Your Children in Light and Truth (D& C 93:40) -  “We call upon parents to devote their best efforts to the teaching and rearing of their children in gospel principles which will keep them close to the church.” We council parents and children to give highest priority to family prayer, family home evening, gospel study and instruction and wholesome family activities.”(First Presidency Letter  Feb.11, 1999) We will discuss practical application of these critical areas.
A House of Order – Learn how to say yes to the most important things in our lives while saying no to the things that want to take over. Budgeting money, time, and clutter. Life is like a library full of books that you cannot read all at once. Wisdom enables us to know what things should be left undone.
                               
Actively Engaged in Discipleship – Doing it all…at least all that counts. Does our Daily reality align with our most important goal? Come and find out how to do just that. “There is no greater calling, no greater challenge, and no greater source of joy…than that which is found in the process of discipleship.” Neal A. Maxwell
Becoming One – Latter-day Saints establish their marriage as the first priority in their lives. They allow no other person or interest to have greater priority in their lives than keeping their covenants they have made with God and each other.  HB 1.3.1 Come enjoy a fun filled class full of real answers to real problems married people face
Leave, Oh, Leave Me Not Alone ( Hymn 102) – Women at all ages and stages of life can, at times, experience feelings of loneliness. What role does the Atonement play in alleviating feelings of loneliness? If we are feeling alone, what tools do we have to face these feelings, develop friendships and fill our lives with meaningful activity?
 Yielding Our Hearts to God – Practical advice on scripture study, pondering and hearing answers from the Spirit. When we accept the Lord’s invitation to give our hearts to Him, we need his help to continue on the path. By reading our scriptures effectively, pondering and expecting to get an answer and praying in faith we walk with greater confidence, obedience, assurance, and joy toward the light of His love.

Giving Your Children “The Gift of Work”/Keeping Technology Under Control – How do we as parents help our children develop the ability to work? How can we use technology for good purposes and keep it from taking over? Come to learn practical ideas about modeling good work ethics and appropriate technology use in your family.

Delighting to Do His Will Continuously and with Grace – Here is a class full of Inspiration and ideas on serving in our sphere of influence. An attitude of service should remain with us throughout our lives. Older sisters are “a priceless resource of experience, wisdom, and inspiration” (Elder Boyd K. Packer). This is a class for women of all ages to glean inspiration from the life of a dedicated Woman of Light.
Run and Not Be Weary(– With so much expected of us, how can we afford the time and money necessary to cook and eat healthy food so we can better accomplish all that is required of us for good?  Come learn some ideas on how to cook quick, healthful foods that will nourish and bless ourselves and our families.
Free to Choose: When Others’ Choices Affect Us – Another person’s use of moral agency can sometimes put our life in disarray. This class will discuss ways to support a loved one without being sucked into a pattern of co-dependency, depression and grief that often comes when those we love make poor choices. We will discuss how to utilize the power of the atonement to find relief and when to ask for more help from family, church leaders and caring professionals.
